SOME DAYS...

it feels as if the universe is just at odds with you. For me, this is one of those days. I have a meeting I am dreading for which I am heading out now.

And, if I don't get mugged on my way back --- I think I am just going to go to a movie and escape! I guess I will see the Woody Allen film. I guess. Ugh.

"...a thousand souvenirs
a thousand prayers
set away in earthenware
we draw the jars
from the shelves
drink our parting
from ourselves
so be we king
so be we bum
the reed still whistles
the heart still hums"

Matty, I have a day of dred just like yours but tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it. Yeah for more deep end of the pool action tomorrow night.

Too bad I couldn't drown in the pool in the morning and then . . .

No, no drowning allowed. I'm the invisible lifeguard.

What's up with the moon? Because I think (or hope) it's over, but I've been down in the dumps and full full full of dread. And ugh! I guess I have to look for a lawyer, which just makes me sick to my stomach.

1. So you saw King King in lieu of Woody Allen?
2. Do you not like Woody Allen (I seem to detect that you're not a fan)?
3. This is not a question but another big blabbering statement (see my comment on previous posting for another one of these long and egotistical blabberings that is, really, just some long statement of my own opinion, which, yawn -- meaning, don't go over to see the previous post comment, but take my word for it, as I'm sure you won't, unless you're hugely bored). I don't like everything Woody Allen has done, but a few of his films, I just love. Even if there's occasionally a creepy factor. As in, Manhattan.

Okay, over and out and thanks for bearing with.

Karl -- You are right. I know. I am sorry I made that post. I seemed to have worried a lot of people! It wasn't that bad! If I had been speaking what I wrote it wouldn't have seemed so dark! After all, it took was a cup of chili and a movie and I was right as rain. I also got to vent to a friend last night which helped! But, Satan's office is really in a bad part of town! That was scary!

Ing -- Please! I LOVE the way you write! Actually, Woody Allen is probably one of my top 5 favorite filmmakers. And, when I still sort of believed in heros -- he served as one for me. I think he made some of the most important and wonderful films of our time. However, ever since 1993 or so I my faith in his work has taken a mighty blow. SAY ANYTHING was sort of a last straw for me. LOL! I keep hearing very mixed comments about MATCH POINT and I was just concerned that I might be more bummed by its mediocrity than entertained. Have you seen it? Should I see it?

LOL! --- I agree that MANHATTAN now carries a certain creepy vibe due to the way things turned out in his personal life, but I regard that film as a masterpiece. Right up there with Altman's NASHVILLE. I would not change a frame of either film.
