THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS

So, I know that Roman Polanski's 1967 film is a comedy, but am I the only one who finds it creepy as hell? I mean, that opening scene where the vampire falls into the bathroom from the ceiling while Sharon Tate is bathing -- that is scary!

I guess it was meant to be a bit erotic, but it just creeps me out.

And, then there is that really strange sequence of the vampire party where they're all dancing. But, the scariest moment is at the very end of the movie when we think that Polanski has saved his love from the evil clutches of the undead only to discover that he has failed and Sharon Tate goes to take a bite out of his neck! I'm sorry, but it gives me the creeps.

Well, this posting is kind of pointless, but I was thinking of this movie for some reason. I guess because I was watching THE TENANT last night.

...which is just strange. A sort of nightmare in which a tooth leads to cross-dressing and suicide. Personally, I balme it all on Shelley Winter's character. But, anyway, I was just thinking that Polanski's comedy is actually much more horrific than this horror film.

Oh, and something that REALLY disturbed me. When I was searching about for cool pix from FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS I was disgusted to find actual pictures of Sharon Tate's corpse at the scene of her murder and at the autopsy. That is vile. A pox to those who would publish such picutes on the Internet!

I wanted to say good luck, break a leg today when you hit the ground running in your interview. I've otherwise never seen Sharon Tate act yet here I've seen her boobs. I'm not sure how to feel. Troubled? Alive? Glad to be troubled and alive?

I can't keep up with you, you poster-of-new-and -innovative-stuff.

I did see The Tenant a couple of years ago, I think, not knowing what I was in for. What a strange movie! I LOVED the idea, though, of finding a tooth in the wall. It's very mysterious and mythical and haunting.

That Roman Polanski, back in his vampire days; he was creepy. His whole crowd -- what was going on in our culture then? Yikes!

Okay totallyoff-topic Matt but I just saw your comment in another blog about whether reindeers were real and it made me laugh so hard I nearly cried. But in a "awww sho shweet" way.

I'm ruffling your hair through the power of the internet right now.

Okay, back to the topic.
